Shanthikarma — Traditional Sri Lankan Healing Ceremonies
Rhythms of Healing
$200
A 60-minute private Sri Lankan ritual of rhythmic Geta Bera drumming, Kandyan dance, acrobatics and traditional blessing — designed to quiet the mind, release the tension of the day and gently transition you from stimulation into deep rest. Performed exclusively for Luminosium guests by 6–8 Kandyan artists and traditional practitioners, this late-afternoon immersion brings together living Sri Lankan ritual traditions in an intimate forest-garden setting.
The Twilight of Healing
$475
An extended ~3-hour ritual arc for guests wanting deeper immersion in the Shanthikarma tradition without committing to the full overnight ceremony.
Night of Healing
$1500
An overnight, dusk-to-dawn journey — acoustic ritual and masked dance giving way to total acoustic darkness and deep Delta sleep, then a guided sunrise awakening.
Shanthikarma ceremonies require advance arrangement and, for the Night of Healing, an extended stay beyond the 24-hour itinerary.
Sri Lanka is home to some of the world’s oldest living traditions of ritual healing through dance, rhythm, drama and ceremony. For centuries, these practices have brought together drumming, movement, masks, storytelling, blessing and communal participation as pathways toward healing and emotional release in our forest garden cultures.
At Luminosium, we reinterpret this living heritage as a private cultural experience moving from rhythm and movement toward stillness, reflection and deep rest.

Deep Tropical
Sleep
Deep, uninterrupted sleep is at the heart of the Luminosium experience. Many travelers arrive tired and overstimulated. From the first night, the body begins to reset in a naturally ventilated space where fresh air moves gently through a cool, shaded room.
As the surroundings fall quiet, you sleep to the soft rhythm of nature and wake to birdsong and natural light. Your rest remains undisturbed in a calm, mosquito-protected environment with breathable natural materials. This is true rest, where the body recovers and the mind settles.
Forest to Table Dining
The Taste of Pannala
Step into a way of eating shaped by land, season, and time. In Pannala, meals begin in the garden, where most ingredients such as rice, coconut, spices, fruits, and herbs grow within layered forest ecosystems and arrive at your table slowly, often cooked over firewood. The aromas of fresh curry leaves, roasted spices, coconut, and woodsmoke create a deeply sensory experience that feels both grounding and refined.
This is not restaurant dining, but a living food culture. Ingredients are harvested nearby, prepared with care, and shared in a setting where conversation flows and time softens. Each meal becomes a moment of connection with nature, with people, and with a tradition that has quietly sustained life here for generations.
The Ultimate
Digital Detox
In today’s hyper-connected society, finding a place to truly disconnect is a luxury in itself. We offer an incredibly rare slow-life environment, specifically designed as a digital detox sanctuary. Here, you can escape from busy cities, constant screens, and the relentless hum of modern life. Instead of a crowded tourist environment, you are provided with expansive opportunities for reflection, calm, and mental restoration. Your days can be spent taking slow nature walks, engaging in garden exploration, and allowing the minimal noise and natural sounds to soothe an overstimulated mind.

Private Yoga
With an Experienced Yoga Teacher
A personal practice, rooted in Sri Lankan tradition.
These are not group classes or structured programmes. Each session is led by a dedicated teacher with a deep focus on Sri Lankan yoga practice, a tradition that weaves mindfulness with slow, deliberate movement. Rather than intensity or effort, the practice invites the body to soften and the mind to settle.
Whether you are new to yoga or returning to it, the session is shaped around you. As the body opens and the breath deepens, the surrounding garden becomes part of the practice itself.
Sri Lankan yoga is not about performance or achievement. It is a slow, meditative approach where each movement becomes an act of presence, guiding you toward harmony within yourself and with the living garden and nature that surrounds you.
